05/25/2026: Today we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. While the parade HAS BEEN CANCELLED due to weather, the ceremony will be held at American Legion Post 373 at 254 South Carlisle Street beginning at 1100 hours. THE EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and all are welcome to attend.

05/17/2026: Today kicks off Emergency Medical Services Week (May 17-23) and Greencastle Mayor Ben Thomas stopped at the station to deliver the Borough's Proclamation. While mentioning the services provided by First Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics, Telecommunicators and many others, the announcement highlights the appropriateness of recognizing the value and accomplishments of all emergency medical providers and the essential services they provide. 20

05/02/2026: This weekend is the Fallen Firefighter Memorial held at the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, Maryland. The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation-led program will honor 204 firefighters (97 from 2025 and 107 from previous years), recognize their sacrifice and support the families and friends left behind. Candlelight Service is 05/02 at 1930 hours, the Memorial at 1000 hours on Sunday, May 3 and both may be streamed live through the www.firehero.o

04/25/2026: This Saturday will be the lastest Honor Flight return to Greencastle from their day in Washington, DC. Join us in showing suppprt and appreciation for all they have done for us by lining South Washington Street from the fire station to the Greencastle VFW. Arrival time is scheduled for 1800 hours (6:00 pm).

04/14/2026: While the nation celebrates a big birthday this Summer, so does our department this Fall- 130 YEARS of service. We have yard signs available to mark the occasion and they are now available to the public at a cost of $15 each/two for $25. Call and stop at the station to get yours.
