SEVERAL CRASHES TO START THE NEW YEAR
01/10/2026- 1803 hours: Crews responded the intersection of East and South Pennsylvania Avenue in State line for a vehicle accident. With two vehicles in the roadway and a large debris field, scene and traffic control was established and spilled fluids contained. Ambulance 3-8 transported one occupant to Meritus Medical Center and apparatus returned to service in ninety minutes. 01/09/2026- 2010 hours: Company 3 to 233 Williamson Avenue, Greencastle for an auto accident. CRASH and BUILDING ON FIRE
01/06/2026- 0338 hours: Box 3-02 responded for a building fire- 846 Buchanan Trail East at Antrim Fleet Services with first units reporting smoke from all sides of the building. Personnel made entry and quickly had water on the fire while crews worked ventilation, salvage and overhaul for about two hours. HOLIDAY ADVENTURES
Crews stayed busy during Christmas week including: 12/26/2025- 2024 hours: RHC for a vehicle collision on Molly Pitcher Highway South at Antrim Commons Drive. 12/14/2025- 1017 hours: Box 3-28 alerted for a shed fire- 396 Zarger Road, Antrim Township. Several address adjustments were made as crews responded when callers from Interstate 81 were unable to provide the correct location- 592 Martin Road. IT'S BAAAAACK and OFFICER UPDATE
12/09/2025: After months of extensive touring (okay- some time in a Hagerstown shop to repair damage), Engine 3-1 returned to service. INVESTIGATIONS AND AN MVA
12/09/2025- 0316 hours: Crews dispatched to the area of 2220 Buchanan Trail East for a vehicle accident- with rollover and possible fire. Arriving to a single auto off the roadway and occupant self-extricated, Engine 3-1 and Car 3 personnel confirmed no hazards and went available after twenty minutes. PASSING OF RAY W. MOWEN SR.

Mowen, Sr. He held many positions at RHC during his long tenure, including: Vice-President, Engineer, Recording Secretary, President, Trustee, Parliamentarian, and Apparatus Operator. Probably best known as our Historian, his vision, willingness to research, dig through and catalog department history allowed us to build the Museum that bears his name.
