CLOSING OUT MARCH WITH CRASHES AND FIRES
03/30/2026- 1553 hours: Company 3 responded to 11104 Grindstone Hill Road, Sheetz for an auto on fire at the fuel island. Passers-by used portable extinguishers to put out the small engine compartment fire before FD arrival. 03/21/2026- 0324 hours: Squad 3 and Ambulance 3-7 out to East Baltimore and Washington Streets for a vehicle collision. Crews checked for hazards- including to the newly installed crosswalk warning system- while EMS transported one occupant to Meritus Medical Center. DWELLING FIRE
03/18/2026- 2238 hours: Box 3-13 alerted for smoke in a dwelling- 385 Reid Road. First arriving units identified fire in the basement and stretched a hand line. Additional crews worked ventilation and extension checks with overhaul completed at 0014 hours. CRASH and a VEHICLE FIRE
03/13/2026- 1920 hours: RHC and Engine 17-2 responded to the area of 8418 Hades Church Road for a vehicle on fire. Personnel arrived to a well involved semi tractor detached from its trailer and extinguished the fire with no exposure issues. 03/03/2026- 0236 hours: Companies 3 and Washington County 13 responded to Interstate 81 at mile marker 3.5 southbound for a vehicle accident. Locating a tractor-trailer on its side in the median and the occupant self-extricated, crews returned to service in fifteen minutes after confirming no other hazards.

WORK RESUMES ON I-81
The Interstate 81 road resurfacing project- from the MD line to mile marker 6- resumes this weekend- 03/15- each night from 1900 to 0600 hours (7:00 pm to 6:00 am) . First, they will work from mile marker 3.5 to the state line SOUTHBOUND then switch to northbound. THIS WORK WILL INCLUDE LANE RESTRICTIONS and RAMP CLOSURES at EXIT 3. EARLY MORNING WAKE-UP
02/28/2026- 0342 hours: RHC responded for a personal injury accident- vehicle into a dwelling in the area of 2098 Buchanan Trail West, locating a single auto well off the roadway and over an embankment. Crews controlled hazards and assisted EMS with patient movement for transport to Meritus Medical Center. BRUSH AND A TOWNHOUSE
02/23/2026- 1348 hours: Box 3-04 alerted for fire in the townhouse with one trapped- 526 South Carlisle Street. Crews stretched a handline to the first floor to finish extinguishment contained by the resident of the middle of the row home and escorted another occupant from the third floor to be evaluated by EMS. 02/10/2026: Central PA Honor Flight representatives attended the Company meeting to present the department a plaque for supporting the return to Greencastle from a day in DC last Fall. With two missions slated for 2026, the group provides transportation, meals and guides for Veterans to tour the memorials and monuments erected to honor their service in Washington. 01/10/2026- 1803 hours: Crews responded the intersection of East and South Pennsylvania Avenue in State line for a vehicle accident.
