May 4th is INTERNATIONAL FIREFIGHTERS' DAY and is meant to recognize and honor the sacrifices firefighters make to ensure their communities, its residents and visitors are  as safe as possible. When proposing the day of recognition following five line of duty deaths while fighting a brush fire there, Australian Fire Lieutenant JJ Edmondson stated: "In the fire service we fight against one common enemy- fire- no matter what country we come from, what uniform we wear or what language we speak".
