ANOTHER WEEK, TWO DOZEN MORE

Writer: RHCRHC

07/30/2023: In what's been a busy month, RHC was out the door more than a few times last week including:

07/26/23- 1249 hours: Engine 3-2, Engine Tanker 3 and Squad 3 to assist Company 2 (Waynesboro) with an outside storage building fire at 11343 Wharf Road, Washington Township. First arriving units encountered a well involved shed and- while most units were returned- Engine 3-2's crew provided overhaul support and help in getting equipment returned to service.

07/26/23- 1919 hours: Company 3 responded to 8642 Molly Pitcher Highway South for an auto fire. Units reported a well involved vehicle with impingement on a commercial building. Crews quickly knocked down the flames and checked the near-by structure for extension, finding none.

07/26/23- 2207 hours: Units responded to 45 Antrim Commons Drive for a vehicle accident reported with entrapment. Crews arrived to find an auto and debris field blocking all lanes of Molly Pitcher Highway South and another off the roadway on its side- all occupants self-extricated. Personnel checked for hazards, assisted EMS and worked traffic control/detours until all lanes re-opened.

07/28/23- 1813 hours: Brush 3 and Engine 2-1 responded for a brush fire in the area of 11435 Fort Stouffer Road, locating several fires along the railroad right-of-way and extinguished several hot spots before clearing.

07/28/23- 1814 hours: Box 3-04 alerted to 344 Moss Spring Avenue for a house struck by lightning. Arriving to normal conditions from the exterior, crews checked for extension and located a possible electrical problem inside and secured that portion of the service. After monitoring for an extended period, units went available.

07/28/23- 1833 hours: Squad 3 to 54 West Main Street, Waynesboro- assisting Company 2 with smoke in an apartment building. Personnel staged until the assignment was reduced.
