FIRES, AFAs and CRASHES

The week that was had crews responding to equipment on fire, automatic alarms, vehicle collisions and a dwelling fire:

09/07/2023- 1210 hours: Company 3 responded for an equipment fire at 7623 Valley View Lane, Antrim Township, arriving to smoke and flames from an agriculture baler. Crew quickly extinguished the fire and worked with the owner to complete overhaul of the contents, clearing in thirty minutes.

09/10/2023- 0925 hours: RHC and Washington County units were alerted for an accident on Interstate 81 northbound in the area of mile marker 4. Upon arrival responders confirmed there were no injuries and returned to service in fifteen minutes.

09/11/2023- 0918 hours: Squad 3 assisted Company 2 (Waynesboro) with a kitchen fire in a dwelling at 300 Harrison Avenue. Personnel staged until released by Command.

09/11/2023- 1146 hours: Engine 3-2, Car 3 to 1915 Ebberts Spring Court, Walmart Fulfillment Center for a fire alarm. Crew confirmed activation was related to ongoing construction and cleared.

09/11/2023- 1251 hours: Company 3 responded to 11891 Molly Pitcher Highway for a commercial fire alarm and determined no services were required.

09/12/2023-1756 hours: Squad 3 assisted Company 9 (Mercersburg) with a vehicle accident reported with entrapment at the intersection of Mercersburg and Anderson Roads. First arriving units made occupant access, with Squad crew working EMS and fluid mitigation before returning to service.

09/14/2023- 1143 hours: Company 3 and 8 responded for a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Kauffman Road and Molly Pitcher Highway South. Personnel secured the roadway, assisted EMS and mitigated spilled fluids. Ambulance 8-8 transported to Meritus Medical Center, Ambulance 3-9 to Chambersburg Hospital. Squad 3 cleared when the vehicles were removed from the roadway- about an hour
