HECTIC WEEK AND START OF MAY

04/26/2024- 1233 hours: Box 3-28 alerted for a bush on fire impinging on the dwelling in the area 451 Moss Spring Avenue, Antrim Township. Units arrived at 602 Brookview Drive with the resident applying water via garden hose. Crew wet down the area checked for extension before clearing.

04/27/2024- 1146 hours: Engine 3-1 and Car 3 to 99 Pensinger Road for an electrical transformer arcing. Finding no hazards, pole information was given to Communications for relay to the utility.

04/30/2024- 1828 hours: Company 3 responded to assist Company 9 (Mercersburg) with a reported dwelling fire- 12802 Short Road, Montgomery Township. First arriving units located a supervised burn and placed units in service.

05/01/2024- 1340 hours: RHC to the area of 3523 Williamson Road for a personal injury collision. Arriving to one vehicle on its roof in the travel lane, crews checked for hazards and set-up traffic detours while EMS transported one self-extricated occupant to Meritus Medical Center.

05/01/2024- 1427 hours: Company 3 and Washington County 13 to the southbound on-ramp of Interstate 81 at Exit 3 for a vehicle accident- auto into a tractor trailer. Arriving to one heavily damaged vehicle in the travel lane after striking a parked pick-up, crews assisted EMS, controlled hazards and worked traffic control as Medic 75-9 transported to Meritus Medical Center. Roadway was re-opened at 1543 hours.

05/01/2024- 1532 hours: Squad 3 and Utility 3 responded for fluid control following a non-injury collision at Stone Bridge and Guitner Roads. Personnel placed booms in a drainage passage to control the flow of fluids from one of the damaged vehicles.

05/01/2024- 1834 hours: Fire Police 3-40 reported a multi-vehicle collision at South Antrim Way and Williamsport Pike. Responders checked for injuries and hazards before clearing the three vehicle incident in about ten minutes. Fire Police assisted Greencastle Police for an additional thirty minutes.

05/01/2024- 1852 hours: Engine 3-2 responded on the safety assignment to assist Washington County Company 27 (Long Meadow) with a dwelling fire at 19524 Portsmouth Drive. Those units were placed in service after staging for a short period when the fire was confirmed out.

05/02/2024- 0445 hours: Engine 3-1 to 144 Addison Avenue for wires down. The low hanging wire prohibited traffic flow in the area, with pole information obtained for utility notifications. West Penn Power arrived and secured the wire allowing the roadway to re-open in about an hour.

05/02/2024- 0734 hours: RHC to the 13000 block of Molly Pitcher Highway South for a motorcycle striking an auto. Ambulance 3-7 and Medic 23-31 transported to Meritus Medical Center and Squad 3 cleared in thirty minutes.

05/02/2024- 1758 hours: While returning from a transfer, Engine 3-1 responded to ASC, 9170 Molly Pitcher Highway for an automatic fire alarm. Crew checked the building finding no cause and worked with on-scene representatives to confirm no additional services were required.
