07/03/2026- 0714 hours: Company 3 and 8 responded for an auto accident on northbound Interstate 81 at mile marker 5. Crews arrived to a single vehicle in the median after striking the cable barrier, all occupants out and refusing any services. Company 8 ambulance encountered several disabled vehicles southbound and began checking for injuries. Squad 3 cleared the first incident and checked for hazards/injuries at the second scene. Several vehicles were apparently struck by debris from the northbound call and sustained damage- including a punctured fuel tank on a tractor-trailer. Personnel used a fuel pool to capture the tank's contents and Antrim Township assisted by applying stone dust to the slippery roadway.
Pennsylvania State Police arrived and last units cleared in about one hour.
