06/13/2024: Including automatic fire alarms and several responses cancelled before arrival, RHC has responded to about two dozen fire and rescue calls so far, including:
06/03/2024- 1406 hours: Engine 3-1 transferred to Hagerstown Engine 4 and was alerted on the second alarm for a dwelling fire at 649 North Mulberry Street in the City. Crew assisted with accessing/opening up attic spaces and suppression before clearing in about 1.5 hours.
06/06/2024- 0418 hours: Brush 3, Car 3 and Engine 3-1 responded to the area of 15448 Williamsport Pike for brush, arriving to downed electric wire and fire out. Units cleared after notifying West Penn Power and confirming no hazards.
06/08/2024- 2148 hours: Company 3 and 8 to Interstate 81 northbound at mile marker 6 for a vehicle fire. Personnel extinguished the well involved auto and completed overhaul as EMS transported one occupant from the scene.
06/08/2024- 2315 hours: Engine 3-1 to assist Washington County Company 13 (Maugansville) with a vehicle fire- Interstate 81 near mile marker 10 southbound. Crew extinguished and overhauled the auto located on the highway's shoulder before clearing in about thirty minutes.
06/10/2023- 1707 hours: RHC responded for a motor vehicle collision on Buchanan Trail East at Hollowell Church Road. Arriving to all occupants self-extricated and BTE travel lanes blocked by a heavily damaged van, wires and pole, crews secured the scene and set-up lane closures and detours. Information was forwarded for response by the utilities (electric, telephone and cable) with a passing West Penn Power employee securing the electrical hazard. EMS transported to two to Meritus Medical Center. Fire Police maintained the closure until PennDOT put their equipment in place for the utilities to replace the pole and restore service.
06/10/2023- 1810 hours: Squad 3, Car 3 and Ambulance 2-8 to the area of 833 McDowell Road in Antrim Township for a single vehicle accident. Crews arrived to an auto well off the roadway in a tree lined field and checked for hazards (none). EMS obtained a transport refusal. The road was closed until the vehicle was recovered to allow the towing service to use all lanes.
06/11/2024- 0649 hours: Company 3 and 8 responded to Interstate 81 southbound near mile marker 5 for a vehicle accident, arriving to a single auto off the roadway and down an embankment into trees/brush at the start of the Exit 5 off-ramp. Occupants were out, refused transport and the scene turned over to Pennsylvania State Police is fifteen minutes.
