BRUSH FIRES AND ACCIDENTS

11/01/24- 1532 hours: Brush 3 and Engine Tanker 3 responded to Leafmore and Forest Roads, Hamilton Township to assist Station 4 units with a brush fire. Crews worked suppression and water supply on scene for about 3.5 hours before clearing.

11/02/24- 1216 hours: RHC alerted for a personal injury collision with possible entrapment at the intersection of Buchanan Trail East and Hollowell Church Road. Arriving to two vehicles (no entrapment) involved, Ambulance 3-8 and PM23-31 transported one occupant to Meritus Medical Center while Squad personnel applied absorbent and cleared debris before returning to service.

11/02/24- 1552 hours: Units from Company 3 and 8 responded to the area of 2667 Castlegreen Drive for a brush fire impinging on a building. Crews arrived to approximately .25 acres of brush/leaves burning and threatening to involve a near-by shed. With the fire contained at 1607 hours and damage to the shed limited, personnel remained for forty-five additional minutes for mop-up and overhaul.

11/02/24- 2144 hours: Squad 3 assisted Company 9 (Mercersburg) with a vehicle accident at the intersection of Buchanan Trail West and Oellig Road, Montgomery Township. Crews extricated one occupant, supported EMS and provided scene lighting before clearing in about one hour.

11/06/24- 1648 hours: Company 3 responded to Buchanan Trail West at Waynecastle Road for an auto accident. Arriving to a two-vehicle rear-end collision, personnel set up traffic control and mitigated hazards while Ambulance 3-8 transported one occupant to Chambersburg Hospital.

11/07/24- 2110 hours: Squad 3 and Ambulances 3-8 and 2-7 to the Buchanan Trail East and Hollowell Church Road intersection for a vehicle accident. Squad crew assisted EMS- Ambulance 3-8 transported one- and cleared debris before returning to service.

11/08/24- 0452 hours: Crews responded to the area of 12719 Williamsport Pike for a vehicle accident involving wires down, locating a severed utility pole with electric wires down/arcing, a single auto off the roadway on top of vehicles in a secured storage area and the driver self-extricated. Personnel set-up scene control and relayed pole information to Communications while EMS obtained a transport refusal. West Penn Power rendered the downed lines safe and cleared the roadway with Squad 3 and fire police clearing at 0646 hours.
