07/07-08/23: The 56th Annual Greencastle Sidewalk Days were held Friday and Saturday, and downtown was hopping. Coupled with ongoing construction, RHC Fire Police spent many hours in the heat ensuring those attending were safe and trying to make the detours more bearable for the many passing through.
While Fire Police were downtown, Engineers conducted training and proficiency evaluations at the station. Apprentice Operators and staff worked through multiple water supply/pumper evolutions to increase knowledge and proficiency to become Apparatus Operators. Firefighters pitched in and completed hose line deployment and management drills during these sessions.
